Disco Fever...Nails...

Lately I have been in a serious PARTY mood.

So I decided to throw a party on my nails...
Ever time I look down I smirk a bit and think of Disco Fever
...

I opted to do the opposite on the other hand,
so rhinestones on the pointer and black peacock inspired design on the ring finger.

Tools:
Toothpicks & everything you you see below.

The rhinestone wheel I found on eBay for about 3 bucks with shipping.
There are a total of 1,200, 100 in 12 different shapes.
That's like 100% times cheaper than what you'll find in your local beauty supply store in NY.
I saw 10 for $1.99.

Tips:

*If you don't want to use nail or crazy glue ( I don't) to adhere the rhinestones to you nails , just dab a little clear polish onto the completely dry nail with a toothpick and then press rhinestone into place and finish with a top coat.

*If you don't have bottle of the thin brushed silver polish for designs you can just place a dime sized dab of your silver polish onto a sheet of paper and make the dots and swipes with the tip of a clean toothpick.

Have fun and be creative ladies...
Don't let these Teeny Boppers & Whipper Snappers
try to bring the 80's and 90's
back without showing them what's really good!

I Love My Nail Tech...

Seriously, she Rocks My Nail Beds...

I always go into the nail salon asking for weird stuff.

First I ask her to do a silver zebra print on one nail...

Then it was cheetah or leopard in gold, bronze and black...

A few other off the wall things along the way...
and I think she finally gets me...

I reminded her of the fade to black nails I showed her in a magazine awhile back...

and asked if she had come up with any system she could use to recreate it.

She said she hadn't but said that she had an idea she wanted to try.

I was totally confused as to what I wanted but knew I was finally going to put purple
on my nails for the first time since I was allowed to go out with boys by myself.

Well here is she what she came up with...

I'm Loving It!

She put 3 graduated layers of the glitter over the top of a deep purple,
creating a depth effect (sorry if it isn't that clear in these shots).

Oh yeah, the black ring above, I made. I have been making them in silver and gold and tried it in
black this week...Not sure how i feel about it yet but I sure had fun making it.

So what do ya think?

Nails, Nails, Nails...

A while back I switched from Silk Wrap to UV on my nails.
For the most part I'm pretty happy with my decision.

For one thing if you like for you nails to have a natural finish, which is my favo
(my hood phase for favorite),there's no drying time.

The clear nails below are the finished product of a
UV manicure no polish or anything.

I was reading You and the Law in the Bryant Park yesterday...
Yeah still debating Law School!

If you have a decent length of nail already then all you they do is put 2 coats of the UV on top. Which is pretty much like glass.

If you don't have any nails, they can start you off with a artificial nail and
then as they grown out cut the fake nail off.

If you break a nail it is pretty much like any other time, except there is no soaking like when you have acyclic or a silk wrap. They use the drill to you remove the UV (glass) from your nail and then refill in the spot where the crack was or replace the whole nail it has broken off.
The finger just above cracked in the middle and you can barley tell it has been repaired.

The only real KEY is finding a place and someone who knows what they are doing. I've gone to other places in a pinch and been very disappointed.

Anyway, I'm about due for a fill and wondering what I should do this go round.
I'm thinking something like this, but making the black a pewter color...Hmmm?
